Lena Al-Dujaili, MD, MS is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. Raised in Lafayette, LA, she obtained her master’s in pharmacology at Tulane University in 2008 and subsequently received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She went on the complete an ophthalmology residency at LSU Eye Center and Ochsner Clinic foundation in New Orleans. After finishing residency, Dr. Al-Dujaili completed a one-year glaucoma and anterior segment surgery fellowship at Tulane University.
Dr. Al-Dujaili specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgeries including trabeculotomy, glaucoma drainage devices, mciropulse laser treatment and state of the art minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries with Xen gel stent, iStent microstent, hydrus microstent, kahook dual blade and OMNI surgical system. She strives to provide the best care to her patients and offers the latest advancements in glaucoma and cataract treatment. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society and New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology.
Additionally, Dr. Al-Dujaili is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the LSU Eye Center residency where she trains future ophthalmologists in medical and surgical treatment of cataracts and glaucoma.
When not practicing Ophthalmology, Dr. Al-Dujaili enjoys reading, traveling and running. Her husband Ahmed is a primary care physician, and she has two young children, Halema and Idris
