Dr. Clifford Hendricks is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in corneal transplants (DSEK), refractive surgery (LASIK) and refractive cataract surgery (Multi-focal implants). Dr. Hendricks attended Tulane University where he fell in love with the people and culture of New Orleans. He remained at Tulane for his Medical School and ophthalmology training.
Dr. Hendricks was accepted to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where he specialized in Corneal Transplant and refractive surgery. He remained at Georgetown to complete a second fellowship in Medical Retina. Dr. Hendricks was given the opportunity to return to New Orleans as a partner of New Orleans Eye Specialists, which is a very well-respected sub-specialty group of eye doctors. It remains one of the premiere ophthalmology practices in the gulf south.
Dr. Hendricks is the past president and medical director of the Southern Eye bank as well as former president of Touro Memorial Clinic Foundation. He was also awarded outstanding Eye Alumnus on June 11, 2002 at the 44th Annual Tulane Eye Alumni Day. Dr. Hendricks is affiliated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology (fellow), Association of Cataract and Refractive surgery, New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology and Eye Bank Association of America.
In his free time, he enjoys jogging in Audubon Park and playing tennis. He is also an avid hunter and snow boarder. Dr. Hendricks has a son who recently graduated from the University of Alabama.
